New Year New To Us Pickup We got ourselves a new to us pickup. We are super excited. It has been sitting for a couple of years so I need to do some mechanical stuff on it but we really like her.

Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Very nice!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Thats the way to get them. I usually start with a roached body and start quilting parts together until I have something that looks like an EV8...
Good Job |
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Nice looking truck, Happy Motoring
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Looks to be in great shape enjoy.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup That's a pretty one, 33?

Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Mike, is there a photo? i think my computer is messed up again
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Beautiful truck, nice score!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Thanks everyone. Yes it's a 33. I need to learn about these trucks now. I would like to know what colors they came in, is this a stock color or close ? Etc Etc . It is going to be a fun learning project . And yes Brendan, there are pictures . They are hosted on the Barn so you need to be logged in to see them .

Re: New Year New To Us Pickup That's a beauty!
Mine is a '33 as well, my favorite year for these trucks. Got any more pictures? Interior/engine |
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Very nice!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Now, that's a start of a Happy New Year! Enjoy it.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Super nice. Nice shop.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Mike, that color combo is very close to the original. Years ago I had a nice original 33 with those same colors. A "rouge" pickup that I should have kept.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup i am logged in,i cant see a paperclip on the side of the thread, do you guys know what is up?
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Love it! Congrats.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Hey Tom ,thanks . When we spoke yesterday I forgot to mention we got a pickup. Sorry. We got on a roll talking and it left my mind after talking about the 36 .
I will get some pics of the engine, interior etc etc . It has a later model engine, trans and rear end in it . I hope I don't get bashed for that |

The original post has three photos in it, but they aren't attachments. My guess is they are put in as HTML codes. |
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup i was able to open them i did something, but i don't know what ! Damm thing!

Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Brendan, if your computer is as old as your profile pic or the cook at the Ponderosa, that might explain a bunch. You have aged very well by the way.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Yes, indeed.....nice! :)
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Here you go. More pics as requested. Sorry for the quality. It's a rainy day so these are in my poorly lit shop. It's Winter so it's what we get .

Re: New Year New To Us Pickup That's a super nice truck Mike! I like it. Happy New Year my friend...
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Thanks Keith. Happy new year to you !! I was very lucky with this truck. The owner waited for me for a while so I could get my "stuff" together to buy this. We feel lucky to be the care takers of this wonderful truck.
Got that tank in yet? :D |
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Thanks for the more pictures,
Very tidy! |
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Thanks Flowmeister. I need to learn about these trucks to figure out what is correct and what is not. I don't plan on changing much but I would like to know . I have been eying 32 to 34 pickups for a long time. They are few and far between for sure . We are super excited to finally have a nice one.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Very nice - great way to start out 2016! Congrats on the new family member.
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup What the heck is that 'second shift lever' looking thing for? Maybe I'm losing it - but it sure looks like something I've not seen before???
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Very nice truck, you've got a nice collection!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup BEAUTIFUL '33......wish we lived closer to compare.....does your hydrostatic gas gauge work? I replaced mine with a later ford version. There is a book titled Ford Trucks 1932-19??....has a photo of a black '32 on the cover. Happy New Year!!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Hey Bored and stroked, that second lever thingy is for the Columbia rear end. He decided to manually shift it instead of vacuum. One of the knobs on the dash is for the speedo ratio change. So after it's in overdrive you pull the knob labeled Columbia and the speedo is magically correct !!
Only the speed is an original gauge. The rest are after market SW. It has an oversize tank in it that is coming out. It is very visible at the rear and really looks out of place. |
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Enjoy your new ride and have fun!!! The best part about having one is driving them. Here in Michigan we can only drive in "nice weather" but nice "weather" is up to you!!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup very nice peekemup......and better batten down the hatches.....El Nino gonna dump a lot of rain on you....according to weather guessers....lol....Mike
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Nice pickup!
Re: New Year New To Us Pickup Beautiful truck Mike, was it a local truck? It looks like it had a long time owner. Enjoy, maybe you will bring it to one of Faustino's dinner's this spring !
