Antique Insurance

I have just received a notice from Nationwide that they will no longer cover my Ford even though I have home owners and other vehicles with them. Seems they have partnered with Hagerty and will offer separate coverage if a person wants. Many other companies out there, just wondering who has what companies for an average ?

Re: Antique Insurance

Hagerty never had a claim but are easy to deal with.

Re: Antique Insurance

Sounds like Nationwide ain't on your side.

I have Grundy, which in Connecticut goes through Philadelphia Indemnity.

Re: Antique Insurance

Hagerty Insurance with a stated amount policy is what I had. Cheap too.

I hope you mean "Agreed Value" not "Stated Value". There is a difference.

Re: Antique Insurance

I have Haggerty, one claim, I was told by my agent not to bother him, LOL, just take it to the body shop and get an estimate and an adjuster will be out to look at my car in 2 days, he was and offered me a check or the option to take it to a body shop, I do my own work so I took the check, less than a week from the accident to settlement, I cant think of any better service from any insurer

Re: Antique Insurance

If you only drive your car occasionally there is a policy available from American Family that is quite reasonable. We have both our auto & home policies with them also I don't know if you need other vehicles or home insured with them to get the coverage or not.

I have Grundy. Got rear ended last year in my avatar - they were super to work with no matter how hard the 100% at fault other driver's insurance company idiots were forcing me to settle ...

Re: Antique Insurance

I have Hagerty on 7 cars. Had one weird claim and they were great. All in all they seem to be a very customer oriented company. Quickly respond to both phone and emails. They offer road service and I have used that also.

Re: Antique Insurance

Had to drop AAA in 2002. Ran out of diesel (stupid) on our first motorhome trip and they
REFUSED to bring me fuel. Said they would tow it in. 40 ft diesel pusher, no way. We were in Ventura. I unhooked the tow and drove to pick up fuel. I continue to badmouth them every chance I get.

I have USAA for the house and modern vehicles. I use both Hagerty and Grundy, both GREAT companies. No complaints at all. Highly recommend either one or both

I have State Farm for 2 antique cars, 2 modern cars, my house, motorcycle and shop. Agreed on value for the antique cars. Never had to make a claim thankfully. $126 a month for everything...Mark

I have Grundy and they and have had it for several years. They were quick to respond after the earthquake out here and settled my claims very quickly .

Any young person with insurance? I am 20, and need to do this soon. I have a feeling that doing so in MA will be near impossible.

Re: Antique Insurance

Thanks everyone for the comments. Seems like Grundy and Hagerty are most peoples choice. Hagerty said I would get a quote in the mail within five days so will see what they offer. I think I did have Grundy of my "A" roadster one time and as I remember they were a good company too.

Re: Antique Insurance

Bob, I had a independent agent, who had a link to Hagerty, so that's who I still have.......But I would like those of you members, who are in the expensive building process, to know that they gave me coverage, during that time......Great people to work with.......

Re: Antique Insurance

I had JC Taylor for over 25 years. They would not insure my 48 Crosley street rod (they had no street rod insurance at that time)so I got State Farm insuance on that car and kept Taylor on the other 3. In 1997 when I converted my 66 Mustang from a coupe to a convertible ( all factory specs) they said it was a street rod and it would be $350 for it alone I said good bye and switched all my cars to State Farm. Just my 2 cents!

Haggerty for our classic cars. On a side note, house 3 cars and camper is $2600 yearly. My daughter is turning 16 in a couple weeks and to add her along with 2003 Ranger it will increase to $4000 yearly! I'm insurance poor and not happy!

Hagerty, but I do hear that Grundy is good and a little cheaper.
