I saw a thread on the hamb that Dick might be in the hospital, I can't confirm it and hope I have bad information.
It sounded serious and thought you guys would want to know.
Dick, you are missed and are in my thoughts and prayers.

"Just got a ph call from my pop. He relayed the news to me, Dick is in poor, poor health.
He is one of the guys I grew up hanging around. As a very young little man, I remember being at Amherst, or Stafford, or the V8 meets trying to help him vend out of his trailers, probably more in his way than helpful.
I still have 3 old Aurora thunderjet slot cars he gave me at the Rhinebeck swapmeet about 30yrs ago. He said if I ever sold them, to give him half of what I got for them. Well, they are some of my more prized cars for no other reason.
He has done a lot more than sell parts for all these years. He was ever the hot rodder, dirt tracker, "in the field" engineer, and business man. Just an all around good guy."

Sad, Sad news. Here's to getting better soon Dick :).

Modern american hospitals if ill are the best place to be, virtually in the world.

Years ago when you took that long walk up to the White Field at Hershey there was Dick Spadaro the first guy you saw when you walked through the gate. I saw him many times at the NSRA shows at York. He is a very helpful man. Keep him in your prayers.

Dick has done much for this hobby, wishing him a speedy recovery! He has lots of knowledge, more than most about our old Fords. Henry would be proud of him!! Get well soon my friend.

Although I haven’t had the opportunity to meet him in person (I wish to travel one year and visit it at Hershey) it's a pleasure to deal whit him, he have a lot of knowledge and also is a trusted person , he has help me a lot to get parts from him and other vendors and then sent them together to Spain

I hope he can get well soon. My best wishes for him and family and friends.

Information I have is Dick was operated on yesterday and is very ill.

Met Dick in person several years ago - besides what he does for our hobby, taking his time to write up clear, and precise explanations, a nicer person you could not meet. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family ....

Never met Dick in person but have dealt with him for many years. I just loved to talk to him on the phone he is so funny and knowledgeable. Praying for you man, get well.

Not sure what's going on with Dick, but sure hoping for the best and a full recovery. Dick has always done good for the hobby and for all of us who are into it. Get well Dick!!

From the HAMB thread:

"Dick was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. He was opperated on last Wednesday. The doctors said it doesn't look good. I spoke with Bill at the shop and he said that it is doubtful that Dick will make it home. Bill has been inundated with phone calls and could probably use a rest. I will post more as I hear more".

Spoken to Dick many a time about my small car issues.
He was always obliging and happy to pass on his knowledge.

I have spoken to Dick a few times...very pleasant and knowledgeable! A true asset in this hobby. Last saw him at the Eastern Meet this past June. Prayers go out to him and his family. Pat

Dick Spadaro is a rare type on individual, who is a big asset to "FORDBARN" and the hobby.

I talked to Dick two years ago at York NSRA meet. Dick also supplied some very nice tote bags for our recent Eastern National Meet at Gettysburg. Wishing you a speedy recovery Dick. Ray
