Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Guys,
Thanks for the concerns! Cheryl and I hold hands a lot nowadays! :) Everyday is special! Looking forward to our trip to Auburn this year with the DDD. I am going to try the dump truck bed several times to test the systems. To see if the PTO functions and the old oil in the lift cylinder moves again! Regards, Chris and Cheryl |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Chris,
Glad Cheryl recovered so quickly. Enjoy life every day! See you in Auburn. Dave |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Dave, Folks,
Yes we plan to be there. Are you bringing your 35 ton and a half? We are currently working on cutting wood (slabs) with the buzz rig on the back of the Allis D-17 tractor. Couple more days and we should have that completed. Then to try to get the garden turned over. Regards, Chris and Cheryl |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck That’s great news Chris !!.......I’m thinking about making Auburn my first V8 Club meet.....maybe I’ll see you there........Mark

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Chris,
I'm still in the body painting stage, so I won't have my truck done in time for meets this year. Hope to start the assembly process in June. Seems like it takes so much longer than I think to get anything fully finished. See you in Auburn. Dave |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Mark, Dave, floks
Yes looking forward to the event. Our friends John and Cathy Kelley will be attending with us and John is such a wealth of knowledge on these flathead Fords! Of course they are planning to bring "Cindy" the 42 business Coupe! Our truck has had its nose out of joint since this little red Comet came to the shop, so it will be good to spend some quality time with flathead friends too! Regards, Chris and Cheryl |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Cool your still going with this thread. Good stuff. I'm thinking barrels of maple syrup in the 32. haha. Later gator. Good stuff

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Wow! Great find!
|
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Chris, I'm with the others in saying it's good to see you back in the 'hood. I'm sure that little red comet could be a fun distraction if you happen to like keeping up with traffic and being comfortable. From the photos it looks like a nice car. but really, let's see some photos of that orange tractor buzzing some slabs.:)

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Tinker, Rustigold, GB,
Thanks! That reminds me I need to bring some syrup along to Auburn too. Had a fellow Ford Barner tell me he was able to get some information from this thread to help him with his 32 Big truck project. So sometimes it works! GB, I thought about taking some pictures as I was buzzing the 5 bundles of slabs, But didn't get any action shots! https://i.postimg.cc/gj6kBP39/IMG-20...930689-HDR.jpg Here I was sharpenening the saw blade: https://i.postimg.cc/Tw1Pgbw3/IMG-20...-163841906.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/ZRQ5cqBF/IMG-20...-163818374.jpg Also used the D17 with the 3 point hitch to hook to the old 2 bottom Dearborn plows and turn over the garden. https://i.postimg.cc/BZ8TGLg3/IMG-20...129174-HDR.jpg Regards, Chris and Cheryl |

Is that can on the saw “sharpening lube”?......Mark

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Mark,
Yea that's it! Somethings do need lubed at times! John and I got the 32 fired up, which wasn't very hard. It starts pretty well with a couple,e pumps of the throttle, a little choke some GAV tweeking, and it sprang to life. We took a dirt road country ride. Easing through the gears in slow motion. I had spoke earlier about the dump bed being in the raised position for show. So this was a good time to do some testing. Remember that this system had not been used for 70 years. When we brought the truck home I fastened down the dump bed to the frame, while also hooking up the PTO shaft to the output shaft. Prior to this check of the bed function, I had only raised the bed three times. Clutch in push the PTO engagement handle forward to engage the gears in the tranny/ PTO. Let the clutch out and the PTO is spinning. Push the up and down lever for hydraulic power up and gravity down. https://i.postimg.cc/C5nyFhRW/IMG-20...817845-HDR.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/gkRJsdgS/IMG-20...855376-HDR.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/cCppCpY6/IMG-20...911395-HDR.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/PfCNL1Yk/IMG-20...934351-HDR.jpg I will have the bed blocked with a 4 x 4 across the frame rails under the raised bed. Then lower the bed on to that block for safety. Ideas are always welcome too. Hope things are good in Ford Land! Regards, Chris and Cheryl |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Chris,
Just remember to remove the jars of honey before raising the bed. Ken |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck Ford Folks,
I took the 32 for a short ride to get it warmed up. Stopped down the road at our grandsons house. He is breaking ground for a new building. Had a chance to snap a few shots. https://i.postimg.cc/ncZrQkMr/IMG-20...909332-HDR.jpg I could have filled it with topsoil! Not! https://i.postimg.cc/ZnzRHPcf/IMG-20...918543-HDR.jpg Regards, Chris and Cheryl |
Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck A pile of loam is always handy …..make the “Ragged ‘Ol Truck” earn its keep…….looks like a big building he’s putting up!……Mark
