- Started in old cars in 1964 building an Austin 7 Special, had a brief spell with Riley 1 1/2 litre, then bought and restored a 1929 Model A Phaeton,
Slowly improved with C4 crank, rods, camshaft and flywheel which made it go rather well.
Other English cars followed culminating in a 30/98 Vauxhall and utlimately in a 1928 Lancia Lambda.
This was off the road for 18 months waiting for a new crankshaft to be made and a Model A Special was started to fill in the time with the appeal of cheap readily available and robust spare parts,
It's still a work in progress
2017. The speedsters been on the road for a little over a year now and there's been a few problems to overcome.
The rear suspension bottomed out too easily and it leaked too much oil despite modern oil seals.
I completely dismantled the car after a mid winter tour of the South Island and remounted the rear spring hangers plus raised the front to match. I sent the motor off to a company that specialises in making Model A's o
