Default Oil filter location

I have done the 95% filter modification. Where to mount the filter is the question. I will use a tiny filter on a remote bracket. Am considering welding a bracket on the oil pan on the passenger side of the pan. This would keep the filter from being in the way on the firewall or fender panel or on the frame. Anybody try this/

I bolted mine on the drivers side. Did the 100% version. Hope you're not going too tiny with your filter.

I put a Mark Kirby MCF full flow oil filter system on my '35 221ci 21 stud engine. I made an angle iron bracket that bolts up under the oil pan rail on left rear/drivers side side using two oil pan hex head bolts. The bracket w/screw on filter assembly then mounts to the angle iron. One oil line goes to a bulk head fitting on the side of the oil pan and the other oil line goes to one of the two threaded holes in the rear of the block. I'm not sure I have any good pictures of what this complete hook-up looks like, but I'll check my picture files and edit in a picture later if I can find one. Antway, it all worked out great in the end. I have no problems getting to the filter from under the car to change it when I do an oil change. JM

Here are 3 pics I foumd in my files of 21 stud engine showing the MCF FF oil filter system with filter mounted on left/drivers side. You can just see a little of the filter on the last picture. That's all I could find in my files. BTW, the filter does clear the stock '35 steering box OK. JM

I am not sure if it will fit well on the drivers side with Fenton headers. What is wrong with the small filter? Just change it often. It is going in a '41 Pickup.

Mine is mounted on the right side on a bracket I made which bolts on two bell housing bolts. I use an FL400 filter, medium sized, to filter the Rotella 15W40 oil.

Here's some pictures of my remote filter. A flat L shaped 3/8" plate is bolted to the two unused mount boses on the drivers side. The full size PH8A has plenty of room, and is easy to change.
