In response to the original question, the early Ford V8 restoper jacks and 3 were axle jacks (also known as flip top).

I tried to post this earlier but it didn't seem to take. So here goes again. According to the early Ford V8 Club restoration manual, in addition to bumper jacks, the 37 Ford could also come with one of 3 flip top jacks
