Difference between 30 and 31 front fenders

How can I tell the difference between 30 and 31 front fenders when they are not on the vehicle? I know it's the length of the running board apron, but if I'm looking at a want ad and the person says they fit 28-31 how would I spot the 31 fender? Glen

You can tell by the shape 8-9 is much curvier but with the photo that you sent the easy way is the little bracket that is at the bottom that is to support the hood shelf, 31 and 30 don't have this part or the bracket. Look at some side photos of the two side by side and you can see a definite shape, there are many other differences in 28 an 29 depending on the months but that is for another thread which I'm sure you can do a search for.

Anyone who claims that the fenders they have for sale will fit 28-31 doesn't know what they're talking about. This can sometimes work to your advantage, if you know what you're talking about.
