Default Suden radiator leakage

Today I decided to pull some stumps with my 30 AA doodlebug tractor. Pulling went fine, and the truck didn't run hot at all. I parked in the driveway to grab some lunch and was planning on hoseing the mud off after, but when I got out there 30 minutes later there was a large puddle of antifreeze. Is this nothing to worry about, or do I have a headache on my hands? I pulled the dip stick to see if there was an internal leak, and thankfully there wasn't. This tractor has been in the family since it's creation, and everyone swears its the original radiator. So maybe it's finally time for a new one.

Just be sure your pets don't drink it.

check the hoses and water pump for leaks. If it's the radiator just dump in Bar's stop leak the kind with the pellets.

first thing is to see where the leak is coming from..
maybe youll get lucky that it came out the overflow tube from being overfilled...

Fill it up go the top of the core and start her up. The leak should be very obvious and. Yes please keep the pets away. Wayne

Thanks for the replys. I went out and started it today and ran it for 30 minutes. No leak!??! Very odd indeed, but I think Mitch hit it right on the head; it was the overflow. But concerning what RonC had to offer with the Bar's Leaks, does it work?

Radiator repair men charge extra when they have to clean it out of a stuff up radiator. Fix the problem the right way.

dont use mechanic in a can plus thats not for an overflow problem anyway...
if it came out the overflow maybe u filled it up to high.. the level should be at the baffle plate or just below

I understand completely Mitch, it was more of a hypothetical "does this actually work?" type of question. Sorry for the confusion!

Probably the coolant just soaked up engine heat, after shutdown, then the coolant just expanded MORE & puked the excess out the overflow. This IS a very common happening.
The old original BARS-LEAKS is totally SAFE--DON'T get their SUPER-DUPER versions, that will "STITCH A CRACKED BLOCK"!! It is one of the FEW additives I ever use!! OH, "maybe" a 1/2 bottle of Sta-Lube, in an old worn/noisy engine, or 1/2 Qt of diesel, in a full gas tank, when starting an engine that hasn't been FARTED OFF for several years.

When I bought my 28 Phaeton in 1999, it had a damp spot on the radiator fins. I used a can or jar of some kind of stop leak product, and it took care of the damp spot. It didn't even come back after using vinegar for a month to get rid of engine block rust. I seem to recall it being a granular product, but am not sure of the name.
