Default Front spring pad ?

When installing the front spring is there a webbing pad between the top leaf and frame as on later Fords? Thank you guys.

2 are presently being sold by T suppliers. An original leather type and a rubber type. I went for the modern rubber.

The leather type is thicker, and may last longer. The important thing is to use some kind of pad between the spring and crossmember.
