Default Does it matter - Tie Rod Direction

Does it matter what side the tie rod (Threads) goes?

I hope I am clear in explaining this:

I marked my tie rod on the driver's side to replace it on the driver's side, When I went to put my new tie rod ends on (Left and right thread), the grease fittings faced forward, the directions say to have them facing the rear, so now my tie rod has to be flipped to the other side.

The old tie rod ends I am replacing have the grease fitting on the opposite side as the bolt clamp side. The new Tawain ones have the grease fitting and the bolt casting on the same side.

Thanks for your help.
