Default adjusting a cabriolet seat

Having helped install a flattie in a 41Woodie yesterday I thought I'd better mess with a Model a today. The seat my late 30 cabbie does not move. The adj knob turns and the mech tries. The mech is not stripped. I have looked of junk in the tracks or bolts where they don't belong. I'll ask the guy who did the seat job tomorrow. The seat won't even wiggle so something is holding it tight.
