Default multiple-discs clutch ...

once upon a time, I bought a '28 model A that had a multiple-discs clutch.

a couple of months ago I saw a restored early '28 model A coach with red steering wheel, etc.....and that set me thinking.

enthusiasts don't restore today with that kind of clutch do they/you?

just a curiosity question....

I do have a '30 fordor and v8's

thanks,

fordman

If you have the coresponding flywheel with good splines and the clutch teeth are ok, they work really well. I have that whole system in my 28 tudor. Love it.

My girlfriend has that in her early 28 roadster pickup. It is a nice clutch.

Thanks guys . . . but my question is: Can you give me contact information for anyone who rebuilds them or who has rebuilt /relined them. I would like to retain the clutch/transmission design since it is one of the characteristics that sets this car a[art from some of the more common Model As.

Capitol Clutch in Sacramento has relined them.

I would check they the flywheel first before you proceeded with any rebuild of this system. Hoping to get a good flywheel after the fact can be an expensive endeavor if there is any shipping involved.
I have the same in my roadster and has operated fine for 15 years and 10,000+ miles.

Omaha Clutch can reline them. I beleive they have they have the nonasbestos linings and can vulcanize the linings to the discs. I have a clutch, 5 transmissions and some extra parts for sale. Rod
