Default correct size tires?

I have what I think is a '24 sedan. It had demountable split rims all around, and 4.40-4.50x21 tires on all the wheels (well, what's left of the tires, anyway)

What should I have on this car? 30x 3 1/2 , or the same size that is on it now?

The split rim wheels are for a 1926 and 1927 year Model T. Standard for a 1924 is 3 1/2 x 30.

Somehow, over the years, my T got these rims, so I guess I will have to stay with them. Thanks!

You can likely sell your wheels & rims and buy the right size at a push. if you are needing tires now would be the time to do it if you care to be correct. The 21" tires were an upgrade as the lower pressure tires rode softer. Maybe it was set up for mother and the kids.

21" rims came out for the 1925 model year. That model year started around August of 1924. It is possible that your car came originally with 21" rims. Even if it did not, 21" tires in addition to the softer ride offer better braking and handling due to more rubber on the road. Longer tire life and fewer problems too. I think you can tell what my recommendation is.
