I need the proper names of parts I need for my pickup
I have my cab off and on rollers, stripping the parts off so I can get my cab aligned back up...
The windshield frame was of poor quality and bondo'd up not so well. Getting a new one. Also, I need the side posts on each side of the windshield. Between the windshield frame, and the door. And the flat piece above the windshield frame, and I think there's a piece at the bottom of the windshield opening, thin, that goes across the cowl. Top is already off, along with doors and back window. Possibly some small parts I can't quite see or don't know about. I cannot find any literature that says what their proper names are, so when I look at any of my many different retail catalogs, The names don't mean much when I don't know what each part is called. Any good help appreciated! Thanks |

Picture would probably help. Year, and if a closed cab, or open, and probably the build date
In 1930 the body changed from a 1929 style to a 1930 in mid year. |

Go through Snyder’s and Brattons catalogs. Look at the pictures to indentify what you need. You will find the nomenclature and the part numbers. I had the same problem. It worked for me. Talk to Steve at Bert’s, he has lots of great used body parts. The filler panel you need between the bottom of the windshield was only available as a used part at Bert’s. Steve sent me a great one at a fair price.

Quote:
The correct nomenclature can be found in Ford Parts Price Booklets. These are the books that Ford's agencies (dealers) used to order parts from. Unfortunately most parts suppliers do not use Ford's nomenclature nor Ford's part numbers. Therefore the best thing to do is to contact each of the parts suppliers directly and ask for technical help. Explain the item you are needing and use Ford's nomenclature and part number to find if they have the same as you are describing. |

A better cowl would be my suggestion.

The cowl is fine, it's the windshield and all its immediate surrounding parts. All the other sheetmetal parts are getting replaced, and what isn't (top of the back) can be reasonably dealt with.
