Default What year is this flathead V-8 engine?

I was looking at this 1932 today and was wondering what year engine it has? Sorry, this is the only photos I have of it. Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone, From the photo, the water pumps are in the heads, so that indicates 1936 or earlier. If there are block-off plates on the front, then 1937 or later.

The intake, fuel pump, and other parts may help, but they are also bolt-on.

It is a 21 stud.

Hi there, Generator is 1934 - 36. 97 carb came out in 1936. 1936 fuel pump. 1936 intake manifold I think. 1935-36 water pump. But dip stick is not 1936, more like 1932-33. Exhaust manifold is straight without the curve out for the dip stick as in 33 to 36. Maybe a 32 block with later add ons which was a common upgrade. Need more pics of front & underneath front of engine. Regards, Kevin.

The one thing that will positively identify the block as a 1932 is the water pet cocks at the front of the block pointing straight down. All other 21 stud engines have pet cocks at an angle.

The left side water pump is '36, but with '35 grease fitting and screw on cap. The intake is '36 cast iron typically used on pu & larger trucks. Part number on the cast iron head appears to start with 40, to these old eyes, which would have been used '33-'35. Fuel pump stand looks to be '34, maybe '33-'34. Need more pictures as already mentioned.
Seems to be a real mix of different year parts.

Start by looking from underneath, as block age is main issue. Everything in photo interchanges on all the early blocks.
From underneath...look for a little separate lump near right front, made as part of pan but separate from actual sump. If it's there, block is '35 or '36.
If no little lump, block is '32-4, and you next need to look at water drains at lower front corners. If the hole in block is at 45 degrees to the world, '33-4. If it points straight down, '32.
