Default Wanted: Model A Mechanic For Hire Near Charlottesville, VA.

So here's the story:

A friend of mine near Charlottesville, VA got a running, fully restored 1930 town sedan last summer. The car was delivered to him as a good running car. He parked the car and it has sat unused for the last seven months since being purchased. So, he tried to start it yesterday. Surprise, the car won't start.

Now, this guy is absolutely NOT a car guy, never owned a Model A before, doesn't know a moto-meter from a muffler bearing, etc, etc, etc. He can't explain to me why it won't start. I tried to walk him through the process over the phone, but that's hopeless given his knowledge and lack of familiarity. It may be something as simple as a dead battery and not knowing how to start it, or a minor problem, or a major problem.

He would like to HIRE a Model A mechanic, vintage automobile restorer, restoration shop, etc that can get the car started, make sure its OK, fix anything it needs, and explain to him how to start it and drive it. I would do this but I am about 3,000 miles away. He fully expects and is able to pay normal restoration shop fees for this service and is not looking for something for nothing.

Can anyone recommend someone or a shop or person near Charlottesville, VA?

Thanks so much in advance.

Looks like its about a 6 hour drive from here, I'm sure there's somebody closer. Too bad, sounds like an interesting way to spend the day. All I can do is give you a bump to the top. Good Luck

Since it sat for 7 months I'd start by checking for spark. The points will likely need to be sanded to remove some light oxidation.
