United Engine Specialists? Jerry Livingston
I found a couple posts referencing these guys, especially Mr Livingston.
Any other feedback on them? I'm thinking of having them build my engine. It's an outright purchase so I don't have to hunt down a good block, usable crank, etc. Prices are very reasonable for a 59AB built as requested. I think their base 59AB is $2600 He also told me about some specific mods that need to be done to put a 59AB in my '36, like trimming the crank snout back to clear the front cross-member. And why I may not want to put in an 8BA. Info like that is invaluable to someone like me. Not many places where the builder actually calls you up to discuss your build ahead of time and knows exactly what it's going to take. Last edited by Ross6860; 02-01-2014 at 11:19 AM. |

No mods needed to CS.I used a alternator with a pulley to mount the 36 fan (speedway)reg 46-48 pumps and As I remember the 36 front pulley,I found a top hose at NAPA that fits the 36 rad to 59 engine(do not recall the part number.)as I recall the bottom rad outlet and the 36 rad lined up. |

Re: United Engine Specialists? Jerry Livingston
I wonder where they find the blocks, on their website it says--
"Engine assemblies are completely dissasembled. Blocks, heads, rods and cranks are cleaned, magna-fluxed and checked for cracks. We do not use repaired blocks. All our blocks are crack free. All bolt holes are cleaned and tapped." 2600$ is almost too good of a price for a completly rebuilt engine outright with no core and with a never cracked or repaired block. |

I would think they would get a lot from scrap yards. I made a deal with one close to here. They are going to start setting them to the side. And I can buy what I want for scrap price. The guy at the gate said he sees a few a week.

Re: United Engine Specialists? Jerry Livingston
Jerry built my 276 FH and I'm very happy. It runs great. I had to ship my rebuildable core since he didn't have any 59AB cores at the time. He paid for the shipping to him.
