Rivet Question
While replacing the rear header on my 1930 Tudor, the right side corner bracket that attaches to the rear roof panel came off. It was held to the roof panel by one rivet that appears to have the "waffle" pattern on the end.
Considering the small amount of room, how was this rivet set? Since it will never be seen again once the car is completed, would it just be easier to replace the rivet with a nut and bolt? |

Re: Rivet Question
You can definitely do that, make sure you use some good lock tight and your set to go. Back then there was a certain pattern to what was riveted in what order and they had bucking bars that were also designed to get into places...the engineers knew exactly what to do.

Re: Rivet Question
Could a pop rivet work in that spot?
That would be a cleaner and closer to original fix than a nut and bolt. |
