Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
Some people use Detroit Diesel Alpine Green, Dupli-Color part number DE1618, which is available in spray cans at NAPA and other places. It's a little too light to me, but not far off.

Very Nice Ross. After about 28 year I am thinking about giving old truck a little "FaceLift".I have a water pump starting to seep a little and a manifold that has a crack in it?Got new pumps and a replacement manifold for it.Truck needs painting and a lot of TLC!

Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
Just to be clear, that's not my engine. Mine is Old Ford Blue, which is very close to my truck's color. I think the green would look horrid in my truck.

Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
Oh yes,I favor the blue much better.I do have plenty of the dark green like for a 40 ford engine which I may go with.It is hard to get use to that light green!

Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
The correct color is 52 Lincoln green, and it is available through Bill Hirsch. It's the same for V8 or 215 six. Here it is on mine. Stu

Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
I used the Detroit Diesel color. I matched it to a bit of original color left on the bell housing. Dupli color and Plasticote both produce the Detroit color but one is darker than the other and I don't recall which one I used. I've never been able to find any documentation on the Lincoln color being used in the trucks. I know different colors were used according to application and years. If there is any documentation verifying the Lincoln green, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
My information source is Chuck Mantiglia. No better authority than him, unless somebody has seen it written by James Wagner. Seems every time this question comes up it's a matter of how close the Krylon 2007 or DD shades are to the original. To me it made sense to go with the original and best quality available, and accept that it'd cost more. Stu

Re: 1952 F-1 Engine Color:
If it was built by Ford Canada, the engine would be cream colour, no six cylinder option, and likely the fenders would be black.... ..B.
