WICK .................
NICE SAVE ! To the average citizen, it might look like trash, but I can't imagine anyone sending that to the crusher ! Love that spare tire holder. Hope you keep it ! MIKE |

Since you are going to drive it like it is, that little bit of original paint looks like the perfect candidate for the Gibbs Oil treatment. It will bring out paint that you can not now see. MIKE |

Wick, you're a doggone hero in my eyes. I bet I could search forever and make a find like that. And then to have it a truck on top of it all is extra great. Congratulations. When it's up an running please take some pictures and post them.

I am glad you are going to Drive it as is, although the restored cars look great, and are a credit to there owners, I like to see cars like yours around.

Re: New Find,parked in 1952
I'd rather see an old Fordor with it's original paint, engine and interior all day long. An honest to God survivor that shows every scratch, dent and faded paint job than any restored cars. As long as it's safe, the patina means something. Our club has a '22 Centerdoor as one of the members cars. It hasn't received any work other than what it takes to keep it going. It gets driven during all 4 of our Minnesota seasons. You know the 4 seasons; 1. Mud, 2. Hot with mosquitoes, 3. Deer Season and 4. Colder than a witches t_tty in a brass bra.

Re: New Find,parked in 1952
When I was a kid there was this old man named Mr. Dole From across the river in the Claremont N.H. area and he was a peddler/tinker. He sold and fixed all sorts of things and sharpened knives. He chugged around in an early 20's T pickup that had a roof over the bed that had all sorts of junk hanging from it. I don't think there was speck of paint left on the thing but I sure looked forward to seeing (and hearing) him make his monthly trip through our town. His old truck looked like a rusty old oil barrel.
