Could and would someone please tell me in which issue the article involving lifting the Victoria body over the wooden framework is located? Thanks. Jim

I don't recall an article involving lifting the Victoria body over the wooden framework, but I can say that lifting the Victoria body to slide the chassis underneath is a major task. Especially after it has just been painted & buffed.

I agree with Vern...I do not think there was one.

Looks like Arlyn Beiber in the photo and maybe his victoria? Tell Arlyn I said hello.
Looks very nice!

I restored one a few years ago for one of our local guys and used some 4 X 4's supported and placed them on jack stands, and removed the back and then the front down with abotu 4 helpers. Don't forget to attach the sill plates first as once the body is down you can't nail them from underneath. Also make sure they clear the door opening... all that prior to installing on the chassis. Final door alignment once installed on chassis of course.

Jim, the Victoria body sheet metal is basically nailed to the wood frame. The framework is attached to the wood sub-sills which sits on the chassis. The level of work you face in restoring your Victoria is directly proportionate to the condition of the wood in your Victoria.

Well, I'm going to be building a leatherback from the frame up. The running gear has been redone. I have all new wood, new Lebaron Bonney upholstery, headliner and top kit. It is going to be a long learning experience. I have joined the Victoria Assc. and ordered a complete set of the 'Bustle'. I'm sure you'll hear more from me. Vern, thanks for the pictures. I like pictures. Trying to figure out what all the parts are is daunting as I did not take the car apart.

jimmiej there is an article back in around 1983 that Charlie Viosca did on replacing the wood in the Victoria body. that was at around the same time I built my Leather back and a steel back for a friend. Charlie talked to me about writing an article, but that is one thing I`m not worth a bean on doing. I do have some pictures and if I can be any help to you let me know. I put new wood in my A400 using the same process

keep in mind a lot of the top and back wood is different between the steel back and leather back. even the inner spare tire brace is different.
