Re-silvering a mirror
Does anyone know of an individual or company that re-silvers a rear view mirror? Thanks

Re: Re-silvering a mirror
In 2010 I had several mirrors re-silvered at Ron's Corner, 27169 State Hwy 6, Winston, Mo 64689, and was satisfied. Call 660-749-5473 and talk to Ron - for up to date info. He did educate me to realize that an original model A mirror glass will often have some permanent stains - and these can still be visible with new silver --- so I sent him extra original mirrors so that after he stripped them he would re-silver the best looking glass. There is some luck on how good your old mirror glass turns out to be. John

Re: Re-silvering a mirror
Here's a guy that does the Model A mirrors like original. He came to our club a couple times to talk about silvering.

Re: Re-silvering a mirror
I have taken a couple rear view mirrors to my local paint and glass company and they did a really nice job.

Re: Re-silvering a mirror
Call your local chrome shop. They will tell you they don't do chrome and suggest another local company.

Re: Re-silvering a mirror
I've used Frank Wright Glass near Detroit and had good results on two original Model A Ford mirrors. The cost was about $45.00 to $50.00
