A handy tool(s) for your A storage.

May not be true Model A stuff but it sure was a help to get all of my "toys" stored in my shop and managed to get my (chev) pickup in also out of the Portland rain. The Amazon web site was where I purchased these tools. You can see what they are from the ad. They worked supper good in being able to move the A pickup into a very small space. Did it easily by myself. This brand was a step or two above the HF items that happened to be on sale.

I managed to get three Model A's, my pickup and some other (junk) important stuff all in my shop. See the pictures below for the "mess". Believe it or not I still have a little room to work on stuff.

Just thought I would give some ideas to someone that my have a storage problem also.

I found four skates at a swap meet in Sandusky, Ohio last spring for $40. I just laid up my '30 town sedan yesterday and used the skates for the first time. They work well if all the casters are heading the same way. A friend showed me that if you pry them a little with a 4 foot piece of pipe till all the wheels are going the same direction, the car pushes quite easily.

I had to laugh. I don't have an extra engine, but I do have a one lunger in my garage, too. We are all too much alike!

To make more space in my shop I listed a couple of my one lungers on Ebay a few weeks ago. A gent from Australia bought both of them. One weighs close to 1000 lbs. Shipping is going to be spendy. Hope he likes them.

I found these new skates did not have a problem changing direction. But when I put them together, I gave the ball bearings a shot of WD40 and that seemed to make them work a lot better. Also my neighbor's pickup did not have it's engine at this time so that also may have helped it move around.

Ya one of these days I need to do something with that old one lung'er. But that thing has a lot of history in our family in that it pumped water for us in the 1940-50's.

We seem to be an export market for steam engines to the UK.

I have used the Harbor Freight similar dollies ( $39 pr on sale) with no issues... make note: take the wheels apart, grease all parts heavily with red wheel grease, reassemble, and off you go. been good for 5 years +
with no problems.

I agree to keep the casters well lubed. It drives me nuts when I go to someone's house to work on something and I have to fight to get the floor jack rolling or the creeper to move. I'll ask for an oil can so I can lube the wheels, and half the time they don't own an oil can or grease gun. I'll have to mount a bracket like the Model T had, so I can have an oil can with me.
