Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Does anyone know who bought Bondobilly's (Billy Inman) 1929 Delivery Sedan? It was sold alittle over a year and a half ago. I know Billy bought it from Norm Langlios's brother. I have lost track of where it is now. Please PM me or call me if you do not want to post it on the forum. 308-529-2467. Thanks Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Thanks Speedway. Heard rumor there may be one for sale in southern Colorado. Was hoping to make contact with this current owner to see if they would be interested in selling the original wood when they were done making new. It is the most intact original wood that I know of that is not currently in a car. I was next in line to buy the wood once Billy was done with it. New lumber was sold with the car to use to remake the wood. I am not in a big hurry, just want to have a shot at buying it before I end up buying drawings from the Benson, which will set my budget back a long ways.
Pic's below of the wood that was with this Deluxe Delivery. Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Hey, that's the kind of wood patterns I need too, Rod. I hope between the two of us we can locate that Deluxe delivery or some other to get wood patterns off of. I had my eye on a 29 deluxe delivery that was for sale here in Idaho 3 or 4 years ago. It had all the original wood and it was in pretty good shape. I went to the seller's house to see about maybe doing some drawings off of the wood, but the delivery had been sold and shipped to Texas just before i got there.

I have a friend with a 29 delivery for sale. No idea on the condition of the wood, though.

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Thanks. Chasing down this wood has opened up afew other doors as far as doing this and I have also found an extra rear door latch for one. Didn't need it but know these are hard to find if missing also. If he has the wood in good enough shape for patterns I might be interested in renting it from him long enough to make mine. Selling off the AV8 projent and some other stuff to get the delivery done by the end of next year if all goes well. Thanks Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
After some more research I think I now know where it went. Might as well have fallen into the black hole if what I found out is correct. As I have never heard of the guy who now has it selling or completing anything. So back to the search for any pieces I can find of others along with seeing what I can afford to get for prints from the Benson. Thanks for the help guys. Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
How many "wood" parts are you actually missing Rod? Everything?
I wish we knew someone in the close vacinity of the archives, who, for a small fee, could go there and get what we needed. I think that would be even cheaper on our pocket books than having the archive people do it. Pluck |

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
I have the piece above the door and the 2 pieces along the quarter panel below the beltline. Might be able to use the upper corner pieces, but they are iffy. Most of the top wood other than the ones at the drip rail are the same as the tudor along with the front door latch pillar, so those atleast can be bought new. Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
It may have been JD Bernard in Brighton, Co.. I contacted him in 2007 shortly after I found out I had colon cancer and his price at that time was $2000. He had made 5 sets, one for himself, one for Claite Morrison and the others to sell which he did. I contacted him last year and he wanted $3200 and he would have to make it. Unfortunately that puts that option out. I don't mind the challange of making most of it myself, that is what I was planning to do over the winter., then begin honest bofy work this coming spring. Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
I believe that Don Turley restored a 29 delivery a few years ago. I remember seeing it at the Shade Tree model A club swap meet and car show several times in Augusta Ga in the early to mid 2000s. Maybe Don could shed some light on where wood could be found .

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
That is where this wood originated from and how I was put in touch with Norm's brother. Thanks for the suggestion though. Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Hey Rod,
Mike here. I don't know if you know Don Graves in Omaha or not but he's the heartbeat of our Omaha club, and he is redoing his Sedan Delivery that he's had for years. Not sure if it's a 29 or not but I'm sure he would be glad to help if he can. His phone no. is (402) 659-1815. Good Luck! Mike |

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Mike, spoke with Don today. He said he has floor sills and the door side pieces, maye afew other when he looks. Will still need to find the pillar from the fender well to the drip rail and the piece along the belt rail for sure. So the hunt for them will continue. So the treasure hunt goes on. Thanks Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Confirmed yesterday that Don has the 3 pieces for the floor risers and the latch and hinge pillars. I will be picking them up in a couple of weeks when I drive through Omaha. Still need the main 3 pieces for the quarters, 7 pieces for the rear door, drip rail and the lower and middle corner pieces. Thanks Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Stopped in Omaha on my way back from Joliet last night and picked up the floor riser pieces, back panel hinge pillar, latch pillar and piece above the rear door opening patterns from Don Graves. Nice to have the patterns temporarily in my possession. Will begin making them next week so I can return them ASAP. Still need patterns for the door itself and quarter panels, but atleast making progress for now. Rod

Re: Who Bought Bondobilly's Delivery?
Had a chance this evening to go through the remnants of the wood that was still on mine when I bought it and the wood I got from Don Graves. What he had marked as the rear floor riser was actually the wood for the sill plate. So it looks like I will need to use the print for this piece. Seems I have enough a few pieces for the quater panel wood, but still missing the one at the beltline and the one at the rain gutters, which is actually considered roof wood. The lower and center corner blocks and door wood which the scraps I have are too incomplete to use still elude me. pic's of what I have enough for now posted below. Rod
