1931 running board question
In the JS&RG Section 13 pg 7, the last sentence in the running board description mentions a radiusd knotch at each end of the zinc trim. Is there a picture somewhere or could someone post a picture showing what this radius looks like? Preferably from an original unrestored car.

Re: 1931 running board question
Not trying to hijack this thread, but some of this applies.
Attached are pictures of my 1931 running boards. The left two are Rootlieb boards from a few years ago and they do not have the radius cut although are quite accurate overall. The next two are ones I bought at a swap meet probably 20-25 years ago judging by the price. The right two are from my late '31 Deluxe Tudor that I acquired in 1978. My question is what was the purpose , if any, for the extra holes that I have circled on the four original boards? Mounting holes for aftermarket accessory? They look like factory punched holes. Just wondering. Ray |

Re: 1931 running board question
Marco, do your original NOS boards have these holes?
Thanks, Ray |

Re: 1931 running board question
Thanks for your reply.
I originally thought they were for some aftermarket thing, but the mat material still covers the hole on one of the originals. |
