Default Painting of Parts

How do most paint small parts when rebuilding starters, generators and backer plates? Do you spray with spray cans after primer or with a gun? Any difference in the end results between the spray cans and gun?
Thanks for your time.

I use spray cans for small parts. But I have two drivers that do not require them to be perfect.

cape . longevity is going to be better with a spray gun as the paint can have hardener added. Using urethane paint with hardener is going to leave a finish that will last forever, if prepped right. However, proper prep and a spray can will work for most people. It's up to you. It is much quicker using a spray can, but with proper prep and etch primer, you can do a reasonable job with a can.
