Default 1929 Town Sedan colors

I am restoring a 29 Murray Town Sedan with my brother and father and we are trying to decide on a color. The chips in the color guide are small and difficult to imagine on the car. Does anyone have pictures of there car/cars so we can get a better idea. All colors are appreciated but we have never seen a car with Bonnie Grey and Chelsea Blue. If you do post pictures please note the colors for us.

Thanks.

I don't know how accurately you want to follow the original specs, but the Town Sedans were probably the most limited of all models. My book, the Model A restoration Handbook, by Gordon Hopper doesn't give any separate specs for the 29 T.S. However, The 30 lists four, black, chicle and copra drab, maroon, and kewanee and elkpoint green. And after 9/25/30, Brewster green. If the 29 Fordors and T.S.es were the same colors, There were a few more to choose from, but mostly Greens and browns. I hope this helps.

There are two 1929 Murray Town Sedans recently restored in our club. One is green and one is blue. Check out the cover on a MARC magazine shortly after the Green Bay national meet for a picture of Brad Nelson's green paint job. It's fantastic, as is the blue one owned by Bruce Remington.

Ford Maroon was my choice. Found out Ford is still using the color base, the call in Bordeaux Reserve Metallic after adding a little pearl and metal flake to it.

Here's mine also in Andalusite Blue. Is there any other color for a town sedan?

Funny about colors I'm not much for green, but it looks great on that car.
I think it is about the right color on the right car.
I like red on sports cars. But on big cars it some times does not look as good, maybe it is just me.

Yes it is Vagabond Green and Rock Moss Green.

The other colors for 1929 Town Sedans are:

Bonnie Gray and Chelsea Blue
Bramble Brown and Thorne Brown
Rose Beige and Seal Brown
Andalusite Blue and Niagara Blue, Light
Dawn Gray and Black
Ford Maroon and Black

Rose Beige and Seal Brown, with Orange

However, the Rose Beige, though the correct formula by the numbers, does not look entirely correct to me. Seems a bit more on the "brown" register than others I've seen. See the difference different light makes in the two photos.

Still like it though...

My Avatar shows our '29 Briggs Town Sedan in maroon and black. Maybe this can give you some idea of that color combination on a '29. Good luck whatever route you take.

Thanks for all the great pictures. The cars all look great.

Would still love to see any stile car with Bonnie Gray and Chelsea Blue. If anyone has a picture or a website I could visit it would be greatly appreciated.
