Default Are These Both Fords?...

I came across these two vehicles this weekend at the local junk yard.

I know the doodlebug is a Ford, but I'm not sure about the cabriolet.

Looks like the cabriolet might have been modified.

Any thoughts on the cabriolet?

Keep 4-banging!

Wanted, lower side sections of 32 radiator cowl.

It has a 31 shell and A engine but the dash is not right.

A 1931 68b Cabriolet which someone tried to modify many years ago. Probably filled the top of the tank when the w/s posts were pushed back. No indent firewall, so I assume it is not the rare 68c s/w.
Even in this bad condition, someone would want it ; it would be snapped up here.

yea, i believe someone was once trying to build something out of nothing. still neat and a good use of what they had available.

The guy must not sell anything. I know quite a few private places that have quite a few cars. But not any junk yards.

Junk yard? It is right off a main road. If they are here in Connecticut they aren't for sale for under ten grand. Bob

Yes, these are in northwestern CT. They are both for sale buy the junk yard. I was told the cabrio is $1000.00, and the doodlebug is $500.00.

Keep 4-banging!

I was told by an employee, that the owner of the yard wanted $1000.00 because it was a rare cabriolet. I was not aware that cabriolets were rare.

That roadster cowl is probably worth more than $500.

My eyes must be going.... i don't see $1000.00 for both of them...$800.00 would be pushing.

The first one appears to be 68B quarters and doors. I can not see the lower landau hole in the curved area towards the top to indicate it is a cabriolet. The doors appear to have wood bottoms and no steel structure that would be found on the 68C.

Quite frankly, the only worth while parts would be the turn buckles and the triangle braces. There may be something to the doors. But the rest is well beyond anything viable, this from someone who restored something very bad. The doors have had the upright portion damaged and they are not easy to fix and be right.

I could see a couple of hundred tops maybe a bit more if you end up with a title out of the deal. I would assume much of what you see is not far off from scrap metal.
