Exclamation Posts that turn political

Posts that turn political will be deleted..
Plenty of you should be aware of that and seems some repeatably just can't help it.

You are ruining it for the guys who come here for Old Fords and my complaint emails have increased.

Too bad it gets deleted because some who just post car stuff have their posts deleted too.

I am here for Old Fords - Not politics.

Ryan deleted the one from today before I got home from work.

No more politics.

Thank you,

Cob

Is there no way to just delete the post and not the whole thread?

Is this in reference to the titling hot rods in NJ? This was car related but got on the subject of taxes which is political but still was somewhat on topic.

Obviously the Fordbarn rules must be followed in order to participate but rigid censorship in a public forum is not popular with most Americans. They're not used to it and many will always reject it.

Larry, rigid or not... them's the rules... So please follow them.

In the end, this is a forum about early Fords. If you are here for that then you are gonna enjoy the joint. If you aren't, you probably won't.

It's not really that big of a deal.

Trying hard to avoid political post here and try not to even read them. As far as any about the national clubs they often border on political, but I can not help myself there as I have strong opinions about their general direction. Rod

Larry, your Model A answers on engines are some of the best on this site. However, most of your messages, until recently, were laced with your political philosophy.

On the school playground bullies rule. When pushed back most bullies cry. To be honest, I agree that Americans love freedom of speech. But Americans also love freedom from propaganda, from having philosophies shoved down their throat.

I applaud Fordbarn's minimal censorship. There are many forums on the Internet for talking politics. There are only a couple for talking about Model A's. Let's keep this one for Model A's.

I think the correct idea is that this is NOT a public forum.

It is a private website, privately owned.

You have to join in order to participate.

The rules are right out there for people to read BEFORE they join and BEFORE they post.

So I feel that the owner of the site can make whatever rules he wants to and if we dont like them we dont post nor join.

I personally applaud Ryan for keeping the site Un-political. That was one of the problems the site had with the previous owner.

There are LOTS of other sites to use for a soapbox of a persons political, religious, or "other than Model A views".

Most of my messages??

Well you're wrong. Only a few.

And NONE were propaganda; merely the truth!

The truth has a certain ring to it and those with opposing views don't like it.

You're kidding me, right?

A thread that asks members to focus on Fords ends up being a bunch a schoolkids hitting each other with their lunch boxes?

Grow up.

Yea, some of you guys should get back on the sidewalk. I like the Forum because I'm interested in the cars and what is being done to them and why.

Cob, Ryan, Dean, Dennis et al. thank you for your comments. I agree wholeheartedly. Even though Political Science has been my field since 1964, I know that this is a Model "A" site and, quite frankly, I really don't find it that difficult to just stick to that enjoyable topic. Ryan not only deserves our appreciation for giving us a quality forum, he also deserves to be respected.

Thank YOU! I almost stopped going to the old forum because political views were thrown back and forth. Let's stick to the cars. :-)

Yes - but when the same half dozen guys continue to inject their political views into discussions, my deleting the whole post may sink in that the continuation of political bickering ( based on my increased complaint emails) is ruining it more and more for many.

Maybe it might sink in that per the rules - no politics.

It's Ryan's web site and he says no politics - so no politics.

Same guys keep doing it and don't care if they do, their political post(s) and frankly the individual political poster could also get deleted too. Enough is enough with politics - no more.

So in a polite way, I suggest those who wish to discuss Old Ford's on the Old Ford Barn site - enjoy.
Those who wish to continue to discuss politics I suggest you don't or you probably will not be allowed to post any longer.

Let's just enjoy Old Fords which is what this site is suppose to be.

Thanks,
Cob
