I have a 1937 Tudor Sedan. I have no headliner bows for it. Is there a way that I could make them? I thought of maybe 3/8" gas line with a ridged wire in it. Thanks

You might think about using brake line. You might also be able to use those large wire terminals to mount them. The terminals will fit over the end of the brake line. Make a jig to bend the curves consistently.

I wish I could tell you this was a success, but I haven't finished it yet.

I also found online bows from the 30's-40's. They give the measurements on the bows. They are selling 6 of them together. I only need 5. If they measured not long enough. Could I sleeve the short ones to make them the right size, and cut down the longer ones, and weld them to fit?

I know I have to go up to the College where the car is to measure. Can I get brake lines long enough to go all of the way across?

Why not run a want ad for the bows? The stock bows are spring steel.

I have ads out for them. Like I wrote before. I found someone that has bows for 30's and 40's. I have to measure from side to side to get the measurements. I will have to go back up to the college to measure those indentations where the bows sit. Then this person will measure his bows from tip to tip.
With the spring steel. If the bows are not long enough. Can I cut them, and weld a piece of conduit to extend it out?

This thread went ten rounds without a word of what Ford called these "bows". One of my favorite parts about the Barn has been from those that speak Ford with as much accuracy as was historically possible. Seems that the "Body Parts List" calls the "Bows", Support-roof headlinings-No. 1 (and beyond consistent with the model year's series). What should be included may be the Strip-roof headlining retaining, either right or left. That would be the one with the teeth to tuck the headliner. Please report any mistakes in my assumptions.
