Electric Wipers
Back in October 30, 2011, I posted a thread entitled "Electric Wiper". Jack '29 Sport Coupe, you posted a reply. I never got around to doing anything at that time, and am now ready to proceed.
I would like to visit with you in more detail about the wiper you got from Mike's Affordable. If you have email, can you contact me through this forum? If not, let me know. I attempted to contact you, however, was not successful. To others, I know my consideration to install a 12 volt wiper on my 1930 Model A CCPU will make some of you cringe (should be vacuum, should be 6 volt, etc). However, I am using this pickup as a driver. What specific electric wiper will generally fit, with little modification? Thanks. |

Re: Electric Wipers
If it makes any difference to you, make sure you can open the windshield after you install it. Some of the aftermarket electrics don't allow you to do that.

Re: Electric Wipers
Do a search here as this has been discussed before and I believe someone suggested a cheap foreign car wiper, can't remember which one (CRS). Hope this helps.

Re: Electric Wipers
Just got a Mac's mini catalog in the mail and on page 3 is a "direct replacement windshield wiper kit" Says it mounts as original on the outside and "You will still be able to open your windshield. Made to fit frames with mounting hole spacing of 4 1/2" to 5 1/8" 6 or 12V pos OR neg ground.
It's pricey at 259.95. Other vendors may have the same thing. Paul in CT |

Re: Electric Wipers
New to this so hope I am posting in the correct place. I have an aftermarket electric wiper motor that is fine. However, the switch broke. It is seperate from the motor. I believe it is two speed. The switch is round and has a light in the center and you pull it to operate it. All this stuff is less than one year old. The switch got broken by someone turning it instead of pulling it. Anybody ever see one of these or where to get a suitable sub? Thanks for any input.

Re: Electric Wipers
Please realize I say this tongue in cheek however what many fail to consider is that for the first 20-30 years of your truck existance, it WAS a "driver" back then too, ...with an original wiper!! The wipers back then worked as well as any aftermarket 12v wiper you will install today. I will tell you that while I have not installed the NuRex wiper, most all aftermarket/retrofited electric wipers only have a 90 degree sweep which means the wiper blade is always in your line-of-sight vision when you are driving. Personally, I don't like that.
