4 cylinder questions
I am working on a 1933 pickup with a 4 cylinder. The big water jacket above the water inlet on the side of the motor has been welded shut and machined flat. With the letter F stamped in it
The old head gasket has the water hole in it. The new gasket is solid without a hole Any idea why it would be welded shut? Besides an old overhead conversion? And why the new gasket has no hole in it? I am thinking of re drilling the block and gasket to let the water go through like original Or is this original or a modification? Re: 4 cylinder questions
Also ask on the Model A forum as there are members there familiar with the Model B block.

Re: 4 cylinder questions
Was there a diffident answer regarding the filling of that water jacket hole? I read through the post and didn't see anything regarding why it is filled. Better cooling?

Re: 4 cylinder questions
That is how the block was manufactured.
