Re: Can anyone ID this Trans????
Looks like a Borg Warner T10, and although I can't see the front mounting flanges, looks like it could be out of a Ford, maybe 390. The tail shaft is quite long.......................what does the front shaft look like, how many splines, what numbers are on the case....................need more info.

Re: Can anyone ID this Trans????
It's on a auction site so the pic is all I have. T10 is a 4 speed yes? Would it go behind a y block manual bell housing? What shifter? What were they used in?

Re: Can anyone ID this Trans????
Yes it looks like a T10 BW. I had one in a '65 Mustang 289. Not sure about mounting up to a Yblock bell. If you could see the tag or get the numbers off it, that would be a big help in determining what it came out of. I think they were used a a number of different engine and model applications.

Re: Can anyone ID this Trans????
I don't know about a Y block, but I'm pretty sure it would need sometype of adapter.................not sure.
What did they come in, well from 66 on they came in Dodges, AMC's, Pontiacs, Camaros, Mercury, Mustang, Galaxie................on and on. Looking at the picture the tail shaft sure looks like a Ford, but without more information such as case numbers, number of splines on input shaft, it's kind of crap shoot. The mounting ears on any GM car would be farther apart than the picture shows....................you need more information to make a positive ID. Sorry |

YES, THIS IS A 4sp!.................see the three arms........two in the side cover and reverse in the rear case...................Hope you have some deep pockets if you buy it and it needs work..................parts are expensive. If I were you, I'd buy a 5spd and put it on your Y block...IMHO http://www.drivetrain.com |

1962-64 Ford Galaxie trans. They had that long tailshaft.Been a while, but I am pretty sure it will fit the Yblock bell since its the early pattern.

Re: Can anyone ID this Trans????
Yes, the early pattern will fit a Y block passenger bell housing. Mock it up with no clutch first to check length. Peek up inside with a mirror to check how it sits in the pilot bushing. If you dont already own this gear box, if it is expensive, think about a five speed. They are SOOO nice on the highway.

Re: Can anyone ID this Trans????
Like 28RPU says, 62-64 Galaxie, and yes it will bolt up to a Y block bell, but like everybody else says, why, when a 5 speed would be so much better
