Default 28 roadster tail light placement

I am trying to mount the tail light on a 28 roadster. Does any one have a picture of where it attaches ?

The lower left of the rear of your body should have 3 holes for the drum taillight bracket. I don't have a picture though.

I am contemplating fitting a right hand drum taillight, any assistance in the process would be appreciated.

I do not have any holes on the left side. I do have 2 big holes near the center. Do you know what they are for?

I could be wrong, but I believe those to be for mounting a spare tire bracket.

Vermin has the 3 unused holes, on the L/H side. For LAFFS, I "thought" about mounting a TOW HOOK there--LOL

That is a 1929 body, not a 1928. The 1928 bodies had three threaded holes for the left tail light as pictured in the post above. the two holes you referred to in the middle are for the spare tire bracket

So what would be the correct tail light for the 29 body?

The bracket and light would mount on the fender.

Thanks for the information. I guess I will have to get creative since I'm not running fenders.

Try using one of these brackets that mount to the frame rather than the fender:

If your inquiry is with respect to the installation of a right-hand tail light on a sedan, then there should be no problem (I have added a right-hand taillight bracket to our early '29 phaeton). However, if your inquiry is directed at either a '28 coupe or roadster with a rumble seat, then a matching right-hand forged tail light bracket will not work if you also have the rear step plate with the original '28 forged step plate bracket; the plate will prevent you from properly placing the right tail light bracket in a corresponding symmetrical position to the left one. Good luck with your project.
