If you are coming down 15 from the Harrisburg area, Wolf's is on the right just before the right turn on 74. A squinch further on 15 is Bakers which is a good reasonable diner.

The Warehouse. Near the Fairgrounds.

Try the curly fried sweet potatoes.

It's been a few years, but when at the Carlisle swap meets, I always went to a place called "The Log Cabin". It was a hugh log structure that was probably built in the teens/twenties and apparently has been a restaurant forever. They served the best steaks that I have ever had. Sorry, that I can't provide better location information. Surely, some local will have knowledge of the place.

There's a really good diner just off of Rt 81 - in Elon or something like that - going south along the tracks ....

+ on Flathead 53's recommendations, Dobbins House and Farnsworth House in Gettysburg. Great town, nice atmosphere.
Another is the Fairfield Inn in Fairfield, PA about 6 miles SW of Gettysburg.
