Some updates.
I am working on getting more block castings, aluminum first, after casting 4 really nice aluminum Cleveland blocks last week. Core boxes for all the new head versions are under way. A lot of things are coming together at the same time. I'm doing all I can to get things done on top of my normal every day work load. I might just take July 4th off.
When I get aluminum block castings I will have someone post pics for me, or maybe look into doing it myself. Tod |

Re: Some updates.
Tod,
Once you get to the point where you can cast the blocks effeciently, will you have the means to cast blocks with different number pad sizes or will it be one size fits all? Thanks for all your work on this and have a great 4th! Pluck |

Re: Some updates.
Tod,
Great, so in your opinion does aluminum make for a better block in general ?

Given the power Model As produce (not much) aluminum is more than adequate. I have Aluminum Cleveland drag blocks out there making upwards of 700 HP. with the same metal wall thicknesses I put in the A block. Snyder commented once on how much heavier my iron block is than a stock block. Not too much, but noticeably heavier when you pick them up. "Better" will depend on the customer's need/wants. Tod |

Re: Some updates.
Just about ready to test fit valve guides and valves in the block I'm machining right now. Kevin Prus Jr. is waiting to get his hands on this one so we can finish machine it and do some test fitting and probably fire it up. Still need to get to the foundry and cast a couple of aluminum.

Re: Some updates.
Today I was able to get time to bolt on a head to the newest sample block and cut the valve seats so I could set valves in. The top end is pretty much finished. I will start on the sides and ends as soon as I have space and time in a horizontal machining center.
I spoke with Kevin Prus Jr. today and he is willing to put this in his vehicle once it is built. He said there may be some guys local (and loco) enough to be guinea pigs. To be sure, I am anxious to get this thing running so I can video it and post it on Youtube. Tod |

Re: Some updates.
Tod,
Thanks for the up-date. I can not wait to be able to finally build a good engine using good quality new components and not have to put a lot of work into an original block and still have something that is over 80 years old. We all really appreciate your effort on this project. Chris W. |
