What tools to take ?
If you were going to take the 'A' out for a long drive or whatever, what tools and/or equipment would you take every time ?

Re: What tools to take ?
Host of things i bring in every car (moderns)
slip joint pliers, needle nose pliers, large flathead, small flathead, phillips, 5 extra lug nuts, a few feet of bailing wire, roll of electrical tape, small but bright pocket flashlight. AAA and cell phone would be ideal but remember cell phones dont work everywhere and AAA can be a real pain in the ass to deal with in remote areas so a paper map and a good pair of walkin shoes are the backup plan haha.

Re: What tools to take ?
If you have a REALLY well WORN car, take MORE tools than usual. I'd say, take as much as it takes to make you feel comfortable.

Re: What tools to take ?
A good jack (sissors jack, I wouldn't trust an 85 year old Model A Jack), jack handle, lug wrench, tire pump and a wooden chock for the tires!

Re: What tools to take ?
I glued 2 chunks of 2" foam inside a brief case. Ignition parts, bulbs, carb kit & a kalillion small parts are "sandwiched" safely in it, to carry along. At home, it lives under my GORILLA work bench.

I have a 2 way radio that can reach anywhere in the world, a cellphone and AAA. Never needed any of them so far.

Re: What tools to take ?
I carry a small tool box with the necessary end wrenches and sockets, screw drivers, pliers, crescent, ignition parts, fan belt and light bulbs. In a milk crate I carry a fire extinguisher, jack, crank/lug wrench, quart of oil, gallon of water, and most important of all is a full roll of toilet paper in a zip lock bag. Also my AAA card.

Re: What tools to take ?
Hand cleaner, first aid kit, and bug & sun creams ought to fill any space you have left in the car.

I'm thinking that old small Coca Cola Machine mounted on a small a trailer is looking pretty good.

Re: What tools to take ?
A good preventative maintenance plan eliminates most of the supprises. Most of my breakdowns have been fore warned by things I have neglected to check up on. In addition to the small parts listed, a rear axle key and shim.....
Ask me how I know.
