Default Deluxe luggage rack

Would somebody post for me the length, width, height of the metal slats. I'm also interested in the gauge of metal and a picture of what the ends look like.

Am I assuming correctly that the slats were "U" shaped?

Were the bolts that held them in place of the carriage type?

While the slats were a straight walnut grain, what was the underside painted, just the base color?

Thanks

Mike,
I have several of the older repro units that were metal slats. They are very nice in my opinion but am not versed enough between them and the originals... which there would be few out there. Are you wanting an original or is that good enough. I would happy to take some photos for you if mine is sufficient.

I'm giving thought to modifying the wooded slat reproduction to the metal slats as were on the originals.

I've reworked a few repos with the light wood slats by stripping the light wood and staining it dark. Then finishing it with 3 coats of gloss marine spar varnish. looks much better than the light wood it came with.

Maybe I'll rework the wood, prime it, and wood grain it.
