Default Evapo-rusting a Gas tank

How long should I let it the Evapo rust soak in the gas tank?

What is the proper way to completely remove the solution before adding gasoline?

I haven't used it for a gas tank but I would think 24 hours should do it. I used it for a flywheel housing and it was in bad shape. Left it over night and it looked great in the morning. If 24 isn't enough I would leave it until you like what you see.

i do it for 48 hrs.... fill it to the top jack up the front for 24 and then the back 24. this gets the solution on the top roof of the tank. drain it and reuse for other projects. i then fill it with one tank of water shake and drain then add fuel right away to the top. i usually add dry gas with the fuel and some MMO baby

Sorry I'm Late, But This Is The E-mail I Got From ORISON EVAPO-RUST.

Thanks for your email.

First you want to empty your gas tank. Clean it out any rust particles.

Assuming the tank is in good working order and not rusted through in any areas Pour in 10 gallons of EVAPO-Rust and let it sit 6 hours to overnight. (depending on rust level).

Siphon or vacuum out used EvapoRust. (you can still use the left over EvapoRust to de-rust other items)

Rinse and Make sure to clean out all of the large rust flake particles if any. Blow dry interior.

Fill with gas or coat with corrosion protectant if you are going to let the tank sit for any length of time.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it turns out.. This process would be much easier if the tank was removed.

Best Regards,
Kevin Corley

My Answer To Kevin

Thank You Kevin.
The Tank Is Not That Rusty Inside, But I Know It Has Some Rust In It, At The Cost Of EVAPO-Rust I'LL Try 5 Gal And Slouch It Around By Shacking The Car Back And Forth This Should Work Ok , Then I'LL Wash It Out And Dry It Up, Then Run Gas Tru It A Few Times , I'LL Also Strain The Gas Tru The Wife's Short Nylons

Then Let You Know How It Went, The Tank Cant Come Out With Out A Lot Of Work & I Don't Want To Do That

Thanks Again Kevin

Joe

I have used the Evaporust In My gas tank and it worked out very well, I used ten gallons of this stuff in the tank, blocking off the fuel filler, letting it sit in this position, then turning it over for another week , then draining it. I also flushed it out with high pressure spray, then a flush with isopropl alchohol, compressed air blow dry, then rinsed out with phosphoric acid.

Unless you're filling the tank with evaporust...I don't see it doing much. Experience using two quarts and filling the tank with water, sat for two weeks....Nothing!

70 degrees plus to active .......I've used it on my 29 JD Harley tanks and I'm amazed. So I tryied on my 31 roadster worked great ... Little pricey at $25. Buck a gallon . Doesn't bother paint. I reuse the fiuld but it does loss strength ...

Rinse it off with hot water and dry it as quickly as possible to help prevent flash rusting.
