Default Choke Rod Length

Does anyone know the length of a choke rod for an early cowl. My car was manufactured in June 1928. The choke rod bracket is located further under the tank. Want to shorten the rod I have to the appropriate length. Thanks.

I don't know the dimension off hand, but the knob is also different. Bert's would likely have the correct tear drop knob choke rod.

The standards say the exposed steel rod length was 21" 11-27 to 8-28.

Thanks for the info. I had checked the standards, but didn't find the length. Where was it?

Bill,
I have one here I believe you can check out for length... I believe as Bob C says it is also in the standards. The early knob is difference than the later one. You can come see me this week if you like,.. or if time allows I'll drop by and bring it.. as I'd like to see the Tudor's process.

I accidentally ordered a 30-31 (28 1/2") for my 29 and it stuck out so far you could hang your hat on it. On mine the knob unscrewed so I put it in the lathe and cut/threaded it to 26"" and screwed the knob back on. Voila`

Larrys40 used his vast connections of Model A friends and I now have the correct choke rod. My restoration of a 1928 tudor continues. Thank you Larrys40
