Default installation of front inner wheel bearing race

How far in should the inner front wheel bearing race be installed. I am installing a new inner race and the back side is recessed only 3/16 of an inch. Can't get it to seat any deeper. Your help appreciated!

Default Re: installation of front inner wheel bearing race

The hub has stops or upsets that limit how far in the bearing can be installed. I like to place an old race over the new one and tap it into place. Be sure to tap or drive it evenly up to the stops. You can hear the different ring when it hits home.
