Default Autolite 4100

Hello all,

I posted this over at the HAMB as well, but want as many opinions as possible. I'm planning on using a 4100 on my 292 Y-block. I've heard really good things about reliability. Just wanted to hear some input from people using them. Lets hear em. I need to add that the 292 has been bored to a 301, with an Isky RPM-300 cam 112 degree centerline, 228 @.050 .448 lift intake and exhaust. "G" heads that have been gasket matched, larger truck exhaust manifolds. I'll be running a C4 trans.

I cant think of any reason why the 4100 wouldnt do the job, if it is in good shape, I am planning a blown flathead with a 1.12 4100 on it, be aware that there are two sizes a 480 cfm and a 600 cfm.

The 4100 is a very good carb . I have used them many times and are very reliable ! Just make sure you get the smaller one !

I've got the larger 600. I ran this engine with ECZ-B heads which has smaller valves and used an 1850 Holley and it ran good, so I'm figuring with the better heads (which I'm still going to work over some) it will work fine.
