Default new 2 blade aluminum fan fit

Still could not get my new 2 blade fan to fit 55 yr old after market radiator on my 29, so put the old 4 blade back on and have enough clearance even though the fan blade lengths are the same. Discovered that the 4 blade hub puts the fan closer to the radiator so that it clears the neck of the radiator better. Will keep the 2 blade until I can get a new radiator with correct neck angle. Must have been why they put on the 4 blade fan in the fifties!

Larry,

You should of gone to the NRGM in Puyallup if you did not and look and ask some questions.

There has to be an answer just why it does not work.

Pluck,
Had hoped to get there but did not have the car ready (2blade fan problem) and then some health issues. Heard it was great!
I have the correct cross member. I think it is the after market radiator.

Get the six-blade plastic fan. Problem solved!

How does the 6 blade add up for performance? I see it comes with the serpentine belt kits.

the six blade plastic is the way to go. Moves way more air. smaller diameter so your clearance issue solved. Many of us here in Texas run this fan. We are the heat specialists

Hey, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen...........move to Minnesota.

I thought there was a report a year ago about fan testing, and the stock type two blade did as well as any of the others tested.

Two years ago, I removed my two blade fan and installed a plastic six blade fan. If there was any improvement in cooling, it was not reflected on my temp guage.. Still running six blade,,,Hope I don't have to remove water pump!!

the 2 blade fan works well, he just doesn't have clearance for it.
six blade is smaller diameter

Tom, if you have any snow-free zones up there I might consider it!

My original steel two blade cracked. Was looking at what fan to use to replace it with. Looks like the aluminum two blade fan does nearly as good as the others. Light weight and less rotating mass also. I suppose for stop and go traffic/parade type operation there is the electric fan option or for belt driven fans I could make a shroud to extract more air over the radiator like modern setups.

the suppliers have shrouds, Snyders does anyway. Evidently they were used in early '28

plastic 6 blade fan cools well, that may be all you need
