226 engine reading 80# of oil pressure
Hi Guys, today I noticed that my F1 with the original 226, that hasn't been rebuilt was reading 80 of oil pressure, I don't believe it should be that high ?. Should I be worried or drive it awhile to let it warm up to see if it will come back down, I just fired it up a few weeks ago, to get it ready for spring and summer driving, Didn't notice it a few weeks ago,
Any help would be great. It doesn't skip a beat while idling. Just high oil pressure Sent from my Celero5G using Tapatalk |

Hey Cody, good to see you showing back up. I wish I knew what to tell you. What was the OP in the past? Maybe you have a clogged oil passage or a stuck relief valve. I don't think there's any harm driving like that, but I've been wrong before. Maybe a dose of seafoam or marvel in the crankcase is in order?

Re: 226 engine reading 80# of oil pressure
First thing I'd do is get it fully up to temp and see what it reads. If still high I'd plumb in a mechanical gauge and see what it says. I think it's very unlikely to have 80 warmed up.

I looked in the owners manual and it shows 50psi @ 2000rpm.

Are you sure you have power to the gauge? |

Run it to temp, it will drop if the sender works.
