Girl friend Boo Boo
My girl friend, Bless her heart. ordered a set of sub rails for my 30 pickup as a christmas present the other day but didn't relize it was for a 28-29 tudor well when she relized she freeked out parenoied she just spent $300 on them she told me what she had done and I was wondering if the sub rails were the same. I know the full length ones can be trimed down but what about the shape of them are they the same ? im sure the company will take them back if they will not work but whats the use if they are the same. I noticed the part numbers are different in the repo books but is that just for the customer.

Re: Girl friend Boo Boo
I wish I had a girl friend that would buy me car parts, but I doubt my wife would like it.

Re: Girl friend Boo Boo
I just spend my money on my "A" rather than a girlfriend. Wife is OK with that.

Re: Girl friend Boo Boo
update on sub rails . they looked the same at first glance but I went in the garadge to see where I needed to cut them and they are different. I can make them work with a little chop cut rebuild so I think i'll just use them. But if any one is intrested they are different.

Re: Girl friend Boo Boo
You should stop calling her your girlfriend and start calling her your wife. Any woman that will spend money on your car addiction is a keeper. Mines been ordering the wrong stuff for 20 years this May, I just put it in a pile or use it somehow and keep truckin'.
Happy Holidays, Tim PS next time you must show the Boo Boo no matter how big or small. |

Re: Girl friend Boo Boo
I am happy to hear you are going to use those parts. Any girl friend that would spend $300 on your hobby is definitely a keeper. Shame on you for even mentioning that it may be wrong! I remember an old cartoon showing a guy and his gal driving his old car and the caption stated that true love was letting your girl friend drive your Model A. When we got married (1966), we left the church in the Model A Town Sedan. My wife used our Model A as a second car. She used to love to go to the bank and throw the money/checks down into the tray at the drive-up window. Since then my wife's modern car sat out in the snow and ice while the Model A stayed in the garage. She never complained. Who knows, there will come a day when you want a "new to you" Model A and it is a whole lot easier if she is urging you to buy it! I remember my wife following me around Hershey for three days looking for some part. Finally on the last day I did find it but it was way too much money. I was about to walk away when my wife told me in a very stern tone that if I didn't buy it she would divorce me! Needless to say that part is installed in my car. Oh such a wonderful hobby to share with the wife or girl friend.
Happy Holidays everyone, Ed |
