Last car on the bridge an A
The old San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge closes tonight at 8 PM Pacific time for replacement, and the ceremonial last car across will be a Model A which reportedly was one of the first cars across when the bridge opened in 1936. From short TV clip (which mostly showed the wheels and running board!!!) it looked like a '29 Standard Coupe, but I am not sure. The passage will be closed until the new bridge opens Tuesday.

Re: Last car on the bridge an A
Quick Google search came up with this story. The car appears in the video about 40 seconds in.

Re: Last car on the bridge an A
The local news interview mentioned it was a '30 and the guy is from an East bay MAFCA chapter.
The video shoot shows the car beng escorted by two caltrans tow trucks with flashing lights and the "A" drives up the incline thru the closed cantilever section of the Bay Bridge. Drive on, little Model "A", drive on into history!!

I like the way he said he didn't know how he was going to get back home... it's a long way around the horn!
