Default Door Hinge Pillar. 41 Ford Pickup.

Would greatly appreciate any information you have regarding the purchase of both left & right door hinge pillars. Vendor or information ( drawing) so that I can get them fabricated. I know it’s a long shot but I’m betting I’m not the first to discover the destruction caused by rust.
Thank you for your responses as well as your time responding
Frank

I bought a set from northern classic truck a number of years ago thinking they might fit my 39. I would be willing to sell the ones I have. The pair I have, have some surface rust. I can get some pictures tomorrow as they are in my garage.

Regards,
Brian

Brian, thank you for responding. If those pictured are actually for a 41 pickup, I definitely would be interested. You can reach me at my email address: [email protected]

Frank,
I am sorry I couldn't help you out, maybe some one else seeing this will have the pillars (hinge posts).

Regards,
Brian

Not to worry Brian! You responded with great intentions and those efforts an appreciated.
I will keep in touch with you and provide updates as to the other lead you provided. As soon as I get time to inspect the door sills, I’ll advise.
Again, I thank you for your efforts!
Frank

Those pillars should be the same from '40-'47. Perhaps you can find a donor cab.

NewC: Thank you! I’m not sure if the larger trucks will be a fit that I can use. Any pickup cab from 40-47 will work and I’m hoping I’ll get real lucky!!!

This is just a thought but you could make a template from cardboard or paper transfer it to a piece of 3" channel iron mill out the area for the hinge pockets, with a cut off wheel sculp the outside radius into the channel iron along with the area that fastens to the rocker panel then weld 1/8" flat stock to the sculpted radius and fill in the hinge pocket with 1/8" or 3/16" metal.

Hi Brian: The 3 inch channel is looking like a very good idea.
Your process described above is spot on and the obvious solution.
Thank you!
