What are these odd interior blocks?
These interior blocks, some sort of composite?, appear to be original to the car ('31 coupe) and are shaped to blend the complex curve of the door post into the flat surface below the window to mount the interior to. In the first picture, the middle piece is actually pointing at the camera and shows the broad side profile. The second photo shows where they mount, with two wood screws, against the door post. Mine need to be replaced. Any ideas of what they are called and who might sell replacements? Thanks

Re: What are these odd interior blocks?
Page A-185, bottom left corner, of Snyder's 2012 catalog....
"Latch Wood - This part originally was made of hard rubber. It mounted vertically about half way up the door post. Used on 1928 - 31 Coupe, Tudor and 1930 - 31 Pickup. Included in body wood kits. U.S.A." They're now made from wood and Snyder's sells them for $19.50 per pair. I'm not sure if rubber reproductions are available or who has them. |

Re: What are these odd interior blocks?
I searched for the bakelite versions of these but never found them. I ended up getting a set from Snyders.

Re: What are these odd interior blocks?
I think these are not door latch cover blocks, but are wedge shaped block that attaches to small block shown on lower side of quarter window. You can see the two wood screw holes on that block in your picture. If that is what they are, the should be one half to three quarters thick at one end and about one eighth inch thick at other end.

Re: What are these odd interior blocks?
Yes, these are some sort of composite or very dried rubber that taper to almost a point as transition filler. It looks like I'll be firing up the wood tools.

Thanks for the photo. Here's what I ended up with-pretty close-close enough.
