Re: Cowtown swap this Sunday-correct?
I was so hoping that it was the real name of a town.
I presume that tailgaters has a different meaning in the USA. I notice that they are welcome at the swap meet whereas they are never welcome on European roads. |

People who cook meals and drink beer in the parking lot also took on the name "tailgaters". |

Re: Cowtown swap this Sunday-correct?
Just left cowtown with a empty bag. All the model a parts there could fit in a short bed truck. Thing's I did find were full retail. Sandpaper, tools, old race car parts. Charlotte is better.

Re: Cowtown swap this Sunday-correct?
well Wick, I headed there this morning at 7am. My gps took me 20 miles in the wrong direction, when typing in 735 harding way woodstown..............
so I see a 56 chevy go by in the opp direction and follow him. See him at the light and yes, he's going to cowtown, so I follow him. get within a couple of miles of the show, and the cops have all of the major roads shut down, filing everyone into a single lane country road. went 100 feet in about 5 minutes. about 15% of the cars started turning around and leaving and I was one of them. how is it that when you go to a small show like this, that officials and administrators can screw things up with their stupidity? went there several years ago and drove right in..................... never again. Hershey is maybe 50x as large and I am walking the grounds in 5 minutes of arrival. Wick, you make me feel good about my decision to leave. thanks! |

Re: Cowtown swap this Sunday-correct?
Wick, the reason you didn't find many A parts is because I didn't that parts to sell this year, took my 28 phaeton to sell instead.

There was a very serious collision at theFairground entrance at 5 am. Rt. 40 blocked both ways for @ 3.5 hours. The sponsoring club did the best it could.

Re: Cowtown swap this Sunday-correct?
Frank I saw your car and it was very nice. We got there right as the tow truck was leaving.
Police rear ended a vendor we heard. Event was very well organized. Lot's of vendors and buyers. There were deals in the car corral. We covered 3 miles looking at stuff. Good food also!!! But for A&T parts there was a void......but how many in the crowd are looking for this stuff anyway? We drove 5 hours to get there not knowing what to expect.....I myself could have looked around 2 more hours digging into the stuff but my neighbor had gotten cold and was ready to get back home. I now can say I've been to this meet. |

Re: Cowtown swap this Sunday-correct?
I heard about the crash, someone said the trooper died but I do not know that for sure. I heard that was why we were routed out to no mans land and back.
Depending on the time you get there the traffic is slow and backed up some what but I have never seen it like this. There generally is a fair mix of A stuff, but I also heard that one of the venders that has had a lot of A parts there over the years passed away after Hershey last year and most of his stuff was auctioned off. Generally there are two of us that take a trailer of A stuff. However, this year I took my Phaeton for sale and my friends schedule did not allow him to go. I have sold a fair amount of parts on the Fordbarn swap meet page and currently have a number of items listed. Since I did not take stuff this year, over the next few weeks I will be adding more ads to that page when I can dig the stuff out. I still have some 28 parts including a good original 28 red steering wheel, 28 starter, a couple of cad plated 28 light switches, cad plated sq starter switch, several powerhouse gens and parts, and a lot of other stuff I no longer need. |
